Painting stories on porcelain

American artist Jayne King combines carved porcelain surfaces with narrative painting, exploring the relationship between ceramics, memory and preservation. During the live demonstration at Homo Faber 2026, Jayne will use a palette of underglazes to complete a Venice-inspired painting on a porcelain vase prepared in her studio. Visitors will see how colour and imagery become integral to the vessel, interacting with the details hand carved into its surface.
