Building form in leather

UK-based artist Kuniko Maeda creates sculptural works from various materials, by combining traditional Japanese craft techniques with digital technology. During the live demonstration at Homo Faber 2026, Kuniko will showcase her leather practice, which brings together wet forming, dyeing, stitching and crochet assembly. Pre-prepared samples will illustrate the different stages of the process, allowing visitors to see up close how repeated modules gradually develop into a three-dimensional structure.
