Homo Faber In Città

Away from San Giorgio Maggiore, Homo Faber in Città (Homo Faber in the city) invites visitors to enrich their experience by exploring craftsmanship across Venice. This edition’s expanded programme encompasses a rich array of events and activities.

Casa Sanlorenzo

Ca’ Riflesso by Artemest
This immersive exhibition brings Italian craftsmanship and heritage into the intimate setting of a home. The space is transformed into the imagined home of a refined collector, where furniture, lighting, décor and artworks by more than 40 Italian artisans come together in a layered domestic narrative, with Venetian and Veneto craftsmanship at its core. Conceived as a house in the making, the exhibition unfolds as a place of anticipation, where objects and gestures linger in suspension, revealing a domestic landscape poised between presence and possibility.
Inspired by the interplay of light, materials and human presence, Ca’ Riflesso by Artemest explores Venice through reflection, atmosphere and craftsmanship. Each room reveals a different facet of the collector’s world, from the luminous entrance and softly composed living room to the more theatrical dining room, contemplative reading room, intimate bedroom, and a terrace opening onto the city. Through Murano glass, sculptural forms, rich textures and contemporary design, the exhibition celebrates the depth, richness and vitality of Italy’s artisanal heritage.
Fiat Lux by De Mains De Maîtres Luxembourg
This exhibition brings together 50 remarkable objects and artworks made by some of the best craft artists in Luxembourg.
While the renowned Age of Enlightenment laid the foundations for a way of thinking based on reason and progress, it also established a critical relationship with the world, grounded in observation, experimentation and the questioning of traditional knowledge. The artisan occupied a central place within this framework: that of a producer of knowledge through materials. Today, this legacy is being revived in a very different context, marked by acceleration, dematerialisation, and a loss of contact with the very processes of production.
The pieces selected for this exhibition represent acts of resistance. In defiance of mass production and automation, each is characterised by its singularity, its imperfections, and the slow process by which it was conceived and made. Within this context, light becomes a critical tool for revealing the materiality of craftsmanship and the unique skill of the artisan’s hands.
