Senia Anak Jugi is an Iban master craftswoman from Rumah Selah Longhouse in Sarawak, whose practice is rooted in one of Borneo’s oldest living weaving traditions. She learned the art of basketry and mat plaiting from her parents at the age of eight, crafting with materials gathered from the rainforest to create functional objects for daily life along with intricate ceremonial artefacts. Recognised as a Living Legend by Sarawak Atelier Society in 2019, Senia is celebrated for her exceptional craftsmanship and her ability to communicate the meaning, history and cultural significance of Iban weaving to international audiences.
