A legacy in Italian furniture
Romeo Sozzi founded Promemoria, a symbol of Italian excellence in furniture design, in the late 1980s. Before then, the Sozzi family ran a workshop that restored aristocractic carriages over the course of four generations since the 19th century. The manufacturer's historic workshop is based in Valmadera, a village on Lake Como, and several showrooms are present in major cities including Moscow, New York, Warsaw, Hong Kong and Taipei.
In 2015, Promemoria acquired Bottega Ghianda with the aim of further developing its legacy while preserving its traditions, together with then creative director Michele De Lucchi. Today, Romeo leads the workshop's creative vision, fostering collaborations with internationally renowned designers and architects, including Gaetano Pesce, Álvaro Siza, and many others. Among Promemoria's creations are sofas, fabric-covered wardrobes, chairs and tables crafted to engage the senses.
