Jean Leal and Kristen Malan founded Brilliance Bead Atelier in 2023, bringing the artistry of Southern African beadwork into contemporary interior design. Working in collaboration with product design consultant John Malan, the atelier creates bespoke beaded chandeliers, mirrors and sculptural pieces for hospitality, residential and commercial interiors.

From initial sketches to final installation, Brilliance Bead Atelier works closely with designers, architects and private clients to make distinctive works defined by presence, texture and exceptional craftsmanship. Each piece reflects the skill and precision of the bead artists while exploring new possibilities of scale and form. Through contemporary design and modern fabrication processes, the atelier transforms an ancient craft tradition into striking architectural features.
