Tailoring between Savile Row and Seoul
Ascottage is a Seoul-based tailoring house that interprets classic British sartorial tradition through an Asian lens. Founded by tailors with formative experience on Savile Row, the atelier pairs the structural rigour and balance of English heritage with the precise sensibility of South Korean craftsmanship. Rather than replicating tradition, Ascottage focuses on understanding the rationale behind each garment. Every piece is developed through a methodical, in-house workflow that spans pattern drafting, cutting, handwork, pressing and finishing.
A defining character is Ascottage's hybrid division of labour system, in which specialised artisans contribute to each stage of production under a unified design philosophy. This approach not only ensures consistency and quality, but also reflects the atelier’s long-term commitment to mentoring future generations of tailors. Rooted in Seoul with a global outlook, Ascottage actively engages in cross-cultural dialogue, presenting its work internationally through trunk shows and collaborations across Asia, Europe, the Middle East and the USA. Each garment embodies a thoughtful balance between heritage, contemporaneity and evolving craftsmanship.
