The dynamic evolution of bronze
Aline Hazarian’s early experiences growing up amidst the turmoil of the Lebanese Civil War shaped her resilience and her approach to design. In her studio, Aline Hazarian Foundry, she creates pieces that echo a deep awareness of fragility and permanence. Her sculptural furniture and design pieces including consoles, cabinets, lighting and mirrors, all featuring bronze. Aline’s work is charged with stories, emotions and memory, inviting us to perceive bronze as a living and evolving partner in design.
This limited-edition sculptural candle holder, presented at Homo Faber 2026, is cast in bronze, showcasing a warm, rich finish that enhances its organic, flowing design. Rising from a solid base, its branch-like arms intertwine and curve upward in a dynamic, almost botanical formation, ending in a delicate holder for taper candles. Both functional and artistic, it serves as a striking centrepiece, creating depth, movement and a refined sculptural presence.
