Aquilegia in natural concrete with roots

This is a sculptural rendering of Aquilegia ‘Nora Barlow’, a double-flowered variety of columbine, with roots visibly embedded in natural concrete. It is handcrafted from 90g Italian crepe paper and hand-dyed with Japanese acrylic paint to replicate the distinctive layered petals and variegated pink tones set in a concrete base. Its aluminium and steel wire stem is wrapped in cotton thread.
