Exhibited in A FULL MOON RISING

Glass, Copper, Cobalt, Quartz

These jars by Ram Gopal Blue Pottery were moulded from a mixture of quartz stone powder, glass powder, natural gum and fuller’s earth, then dried and refined before being painted with cobalt and copper oxides. They were glazed, fired and finished by hand following traditional Jaipur blue pottery techniques. Depicting a continuous garden scene with trees, lotus leaves, birds and clouds, the works bring together Jaipur miniature painting with blue pottery in a simple, balanced form.
