Entwined 4 #823; Nobody's Perfect #780

These baskets by Jennifer Zurick were hand woven from willow bark, with Entwined 4 #823 incorporating honeysuckle vine through the hexagonal structure. The vine was dyed with the bark to blend with the twined border. Nobody’s Perfect #780 was plain plaited from finely processed black willow bark, with twining techniques used along the rim and encaustic applied to the exterior surface. Entwined 4 #823 moves away from structured methods towards a more intuitive approach, evoking earth-rooted, spontaneous vegetation twisting through a woodland landscape. Nobody’s Perfect #780 explores the soft, flexible qualities of willow bark, highlighting its textile-like character.
