These vessels by Dolon Kundu were crafted using the pinch pottery technique, dried slowly at room temperature and fired in a gas kiln. Each blossom was individually formed by hand and pressed into the surface. The works feature the night-flowering jasmine, which heralds the arrival of the goddess during Bengal’s Durga Puja festival, alongside the chrysanthemum, a recurring motif in the artist’s practice, chosen for its intricacy and abundance.
