This headpiece by Christiane Englsberger was crafted from straw, using a traditional technique from the canton of Aargau in Switzerland. The straw was split into strands, which were twisted into fine strings and shaped into a variety of flowers, leaves and ornamental elements. Inspired by the rich diversity of forms found in nature, the work reveals the underlying symmetry that exists in organic growth.
