These baskets by Dawa Luz Maria Garcia Martinez were crafted from thick mamure fibres to form a minimal structural core, and from minñatö to weave its outer layer. The specific materials, a type of vine and a reed respectively, were collected deep within the Amazonian jungle. Embodying the mythical and historical bond between humans and the forest, the works showcase the fundamental value of intertwining fibres in Ye'kwana culture.
