Planet TL_15; Planet TXL_1

These jars by Syyoung Kim were shaped from clay, and freely distorted through high-temperature firing. The upper hemispheres are broader, while the bases are more compact. Planet TL_15 features neither neck nor foot, resulting in modern simplicity. The piece was finished with a glaze containing a calibrated mix of iron oxides. Planet TXL_1, recalling a night sky, displays silver-blue streaks that were applied through the gesture of the palm.
