Starwatch

Handwoven on a vertical loom, this tapestry depicts a spiral galaxy with arms filled with tiny butterflies. In the dark arms, the butterflies are pulled toward the centre of the galaxy, while in the light arms, they are released. This piece reflects on looking at the sky through a telescope to search for meaning in the cosmos, and on discovering the complexity of life forms within the dimensions of nature and space.
