This tactile surface is the result of Shun Kumagai’s playful imagination, as he came up with the idea to use shell while having miso soup with small shells. His signature rustic glass finish further deepens the work’s historical resonance, evoking ancient shell mounds formed by early inhabitants of the archipelago.
