This object is made from white clay and a custom-made black glaze. The lower part of the piece was shaped on the wheel, while the upper part was hand built by pinching and stacking the clay. The reason for dividing it into two forms is to give the work a sense of secrecy, making it unclear whether the two parts are made of the same clay or whether different materials have been joined. The connection between them is concealed under the black glaze.
