Dyed in the Wool

This hand embroidered portrait is referenced from vintage Playboys. Danielle Clough reworked these moments from adverts, editorials and articles, removing them from their context and letting them stand alone on a new stage. This allows the viewer to see these snippets of the past in isolation and to be able to draw new conclusions for themselves. The close crop portrait on mustard linen feels vintage, but pops of neon colours remind you that it is contemporary.
