What's a Girl to Do?

This is a large, embroidered portrait, referenced from a 1970s Playboy magazine for Danielle Clough’s exhibition named Crewel Intentions. The woman, lying in yellow flowers, is made of a variety of thread sizes and thickness. By reimagining and recolouring these images from print through a medium that is commonly regarded as antiquated, Danielle Clough explores the ideas of beauty with the passing of time.
