The exterior of this piece is shaped from wood with a hatchet, then the inside is hollowed out and fitted with a plate to create a base. It is created as a traditional Japanese jubako box composed of five tiers. Kenji Honma refines raw lacquer he collected himself and finishes the piece in its natural colour using traditional Japanese techniques.
