These three gold rings were created by Nicolai Appel for a client. The first takes a winding, organic shape with rope-like textures on the gold ring, wrapping around the shape with the rounded square shape of a dark and smoky spinel inset at the top. The second is playful, with two round natural sapphires gleaming from the centre of a series of thin gold rings woven together, with textural details including tiny gold balls. In the third, three different shaped green tourmalines are set beside tiny gold balls on a forked gold ring.
