A Visit Through Little Dipper

This piece is a pet commission created through the combination of multiple hand embroidery techniques. The portraits of the three dogs featured in the composition are rendered with a realistic approach using the thread painting technique. Each portrait is created as a separate appliqué element and then incorporated into the main composition to achieve a 3D effect. The comet like stars the dogs are riding on are constructed using the stump work technique. Their textures and patterns are intricately stitched using techniques such as stem stitch, cast-on stitch and weaving.
