This stringed instrument, inspired by the Kora of the Mandé peoples of West Africa, replaces the traditional gourd body with a lathe-turned Pacific madrone basket form. Made from a range of materials including madrone burl, teak, rosewood, lilac, black walnut and mountain mahogany, its 21 strings produce a resonant, harp-like sound.
Homo Faber Finds is a new service aiming to inspire admirers of craft to connect and collaborate with exceptional artisans.
