These basket-like forms, inspired by Native American baskets of the Southwest, are made from red madrone burl and stitched with linen thread. The Pacific madrone, native to the west coast of the USA, was turned on a lathe right after harvesting. As the wood dried, each piece warped into its final, unique shape.
