This brooch is created using mitsuro hikime, a traditional Japanese lost-wax technique. The object’s flowing lines are hand-sculpted in beeswax, then cast in sterling silver. 24k gold accents are subtly added to enhance the sense of movement. The brooch is finished with a soft white patina and burnished to reveal the natural, organic lines formed by the wax.
