Moonlit Flowers 1
This pendant is crafted using mitsuro hikime, a traditional Japanese lost-wax technique. Beeswax is hand-sculpted, cast in sterling silver, then fused with 24k gold leaf. The object is filed and sanded to give it a smooth surface, and then treated with a white finish. The object's lines and edges are burnished to bring out depth and detail. To finish, the object is strung on a red Kumihimo, a traditional Japanese silk braid.
