Tablecloth barafunda 2
This tablecloth features barafunda, a richly symbolic Afro-Brazilian embroidery technique, which highlights a refined composition of openwork hemstitch paired with ponto palito, or straight stitch. Executed on hemp fabric with white thread, the design features alternating bands of drawn-thread work, forming rhythmic patterns of light and texture. The combination of techniques enhances both structure and ornament, showcasing the precision and delicacy of Carlos Vinicius’ work.
