Aeon is a sword that cuts through time: it merges contemporary jewellery techniques with design elements as old as metallurgy itself. Its proportions and form are defined by geometric principles gleaned from plans of Gothic cathedrals. The iron pommel and guard are deeply etched and encrusted with fused 14 carat gold. The parchment-wrapped grip is studded with 24 carat gold pins and flanked by textured, oxidised sterling silver ferrules with gilded rims. The blade’s chatoyance effect emanates from the play of light across 700 layers of patterned steel.
