HOMO FABER FELLOWSHIP
Harbinger

Harbinger

The Harbinger sword illustrates how an object of power can be both a warning and a means of securing a safe place in a world of danger. The design is based on a geometry of interlocked circles and the interaction between octagons and squares. The octagon is traditionally associated with new beginnings and the symmetrical square has long been a symbol of stability and incorruptible truth. The strict rules of the proportions of the sword are a counterpoint to the organic shapes and textures.
