The 500th Anniversary of the Battle of Orsha

This struck commemorative medal is 51 mm in diameter and was minted in a limited edition of 99 pieces. It was made to commemorate the Battle of Orsha, which took place on 8 September 1514. The much smaller army of Lithuania-Poland (under 30,000 men) defeated a force of 80,000 Muscovite soldiers, during the Muscovite-Lithuanian Wars.
