This commemorative medal, made of cast bronze, is 159 mm in diameter and was made to celebrate 700 years of the Lithuanian capital in 2023. Vilnius' history goes back to the Stone Age. The first person to mention it in a letter to Pope John XXII in 1323 was the pagan king of Lithuania, Gediminas. So, it is thought to have been founded in 1323.
