Maneki Göran
Inspired by the Japanese waving cat ‘Maneki Neko’, said to wave in fortune, Maneki Göran depicts a Swedish man drinking beer and waving with his cigarette. Exhibited alongside figurines from the Royal Palace’s collection of figurines depicting non-European cultures, this piece was sculpted, then cast in stoneware, and painted with underglaze.
