Black Arita Extreme is a piece made by potter Eijiro Tokunaga. He uses clay in the Arita ware production area, which is said to be the birthplace of porcelain in Japan, to pursue his own unique expression, with black ceramics. The carbonised firing process produces an aurora-like landscape with a variety of colours and lustre within the jet-black colour. In addition, when the conditions for kiln transformation are met, a rare blue colour can appear.
Homo Faber Finds is a new service aiming to inspire admirers of craft to connect and collaborate with exceptional artisans.
