Black bowl

In December 2022, an extensive amount of wet, dense snow fell, causing damage to numerous cedars on the mountain. This broken wood was shaped on a lathe and finished with black lacquer. The bowl features a closed rim, reminiscent of vessels monks use for alms, yet its entire exterior surface is intricately carved with a pattern. As such, the bowl belongs to the We Are Atoms collection that features this pattern.
