This chestnut bowl was inspired by the pattern of an ancient fisher’s net that Takashi Tomii found in his grandfather’s house. Everything, including the handle, is chiselled and planed from a single block of wood. Chestnut has a whitish tint but this piece is coated with wood ash dissolved in water and finished with beeswax to give it a tasteful brown colour.
Homo Faber Finds is a new service aiming to inspire admirers of craft to connect and collaborate with exceptional artisans.
