This ceramic vessel belongs to the Ritual Trio series. It was inspired by the Sufi mystical whirling ceremonies which have been part of Turkish rituals for 700 years. The Turkic alphabet symbols come from an Orhun inscription found at a UNESCO World Heritage List site in Central Asia. Shaped with white clay, the object was coloured black with an underglaze paint after the first firing.
