These two handbuilt and polished stoneware vessels have been covered with a shiny copper glaze and fired at 1220°C. The pair of vases are from Ute Beck's GLOSS & GLITTER series. The surface of the vases are broken with a landscape of bumps, folds, cavities and crater-like holes; other elements seem to have been taken from Baroque objects. The series plays on the notion of abundance, opulence and decadence of the baroque attitude to life.
