Patchwork Carpet

This carpet, part of Mariantonia Urru's Heritage collection, is an ongoing research project into classic designs and patterns of Sardinian weaving history, undertaken in collaboration with Pretziada Studio. Adapting these designs to today's production capabilities and colour schemes, the collection reintroduces traditional, historical pieces and tells their stories. Patchwork is based on the irregularities found in the rich designs of traditional festive bed covers. It is made with a particularly laborious and precise mini-pibiones technique.
