Through this hand shaped vase, Embla Sigurgeirsdóttir conveys imagery of some of the rugged elements found in Icelandic nature. She carves patterns into the white and delicate surface of the porcelain. Her designs are often inspired by the material itself, drawing on the white and translucent nature of porcelain to accentuate the relationship between light and dark.
