Wrinkled Teapot
This hand-built teapot is made of red clay using a coil building technique. It has a round shape with a textured surface, which is covered with red ochre colourants, mixed with turquoise drips spread asymmetrically over the surface. The teapot has a short and disproportionally narrow spout, a pointed handle and a narrow opening on the top with a tiny ball-shaped cover. The wrinkled texture all over the surface gives a rustic feel to the work, which is a trademark of Gigisha's work.
