
The upper part of this vessel is a plate that reminds us of a flower. The fig wood used was particularly gnarled and therefore full of interesting patterns. Missing parts of wood add to the dramatic impression. Walnut root wood was used for a dark and solid foot, which is a support and smooth counterpoint to the irregular upper part.
