Marking cattle

This is a decorative object, a small scale wooden sculpture, carved and painted. The piece is inscribed in a rectangular prism in the form of a landscape panel. The object represents the Yerra, a tradition of rural work. As in a puzzle, each figure fits into the profile of the other, while remaining independent. The bodies of the labourers and animals are crowded together to create a dynamic and harmonious whole that expresses the strength and tension of the task.
