Maple desk

This yellow ochre maple wood desk was designed and created by Thomas Schmitter. The desk features four drawers and was assembled using traditional wood joints. The desk is protected with a coating of wax. Over the years wood will naturally move. The classic technique of creating wood joints takes this physical behaviour into account by interlocking the individual parts so that they can move against each other without damage.
