Two-week intensive course in weaving in Supraśl

with Marta Pokojowczyk

Immersion in Polish weaving tradition

For those who wish to master the craft of hand weaving and advance their weaving abilities, Marta Pokojowczyk offers a 2-week immersion course. Each candidate will gain knowledge of the fundamentals of hand weaving, the making behind woven fabrics, and learn how to create their own weaving draft by operating a professional 12-shaft spring loom manufacturer by Louet. Students will design and produce their own hand-woven piece. In addition to theoretical tuition of various weaves, this intensive training also covers practicalities, such as how to properly choose and calculate the type of yarn and number of threads, wind the warp, dress the loom, and create the textile. The course occurs on weekdays for 2 weeks, and each day consists of 7-hour sessions. Please note that this experience runs only from April until October each year.
