The visit starts with a brief presentation of the AAV Barbini company, currently run by Giovanni and Vincenzo Barbini, descendants of a long lineage of mirror makers in Murano. Participants can then admire firsthand all the different processing stages that are necessary to create an authentic Venetian mirror, from drawing, cutting, grinding, engraving, silvering and finally to the assembly of the finished piece. At the end of the visit, it is possible to view the Barbini Specchi Veneziani showroom, which showcases many models of finished Venetian mirrors and some engraved works and various objects made by the Barbini family, including paintings, vases and glasses.
