An enthusiastic team honouring artisanal printing
Bottega del Tintoretto, an art printing workshop in Cannaregio is housed in the very same building where the great artist Tintoretto himself once lived and worked. Equipped with antique tools and working printing presses, the atelier houses everything needed to make a book: from printing the pages to composing the texts and binding. In order to preserve and raise awareness of traditional craft printing and promote production, Bottega del Tintoretto offers workshops on classical engraving, woodcut and lithography techniques, as well as experimental processes developed in the 20th century. You will find Roberto and Elena busy printing lithographs or engravings, or binding books. Please note that this visit is free and can accommodate up to 7 people.
