Engraving and printing course in Venice

With Master Roberto Mazzetto, who is an artist, printmaker and engraver, you will explore the space between the traditional techniques of engraving and artistic printing. Each weekly session is 4 hours long. During the 30-week course, participants will dive deeper into techniques for making traditional and direct printing matrices: burin, drypoint, black manner, xylography, lithography, etching, aquatint and ceramolle. The course costs 130 EUR per month for participants attending the entire period; different prices apply for shorter periods. The material such as paper, inks, zinc and copper matrices are included in the price. No previous experience is needed. The classes take place on Thursdays from 15:00 - 19:00, from October to May.

Every summer, Bottega del Tintoretto offers intensive workshops to explore the space between the traditional techniques of engraving and fine art printing in Venice’s lively Cannaregio district. During the daily course held over the span of five days, you will immerse yourself in the craft, deepening your knowledge of a specific technique and of the relative printing technique every day. The course price includes a daily lunch and all material required. Master Roberto Mazzetto will assist you in every step and no previous experience is required. All the materials and a daily lunch are included in the price. The course runs from Monday to Friday from 10:00 to 17:00.
