Tile making masterclass in Porto

In Portugal, striking azulejo tiles can be seen on facades and interiors of historical buildings, train stations, churches and parks. At Brâmica Studio in Porto, ceramicist Teresa Branco organises workshops for visitors to create their very own Portuguese-style tile.Teresa introduces traditional ceramics and the process of tile making before inviting participants to design and fire their own tile. Since the process entails firing the piece twice, they will not be able to take their tile back on the spot but will receive it by post a few weeks later thus prolonging the excitement of discovering their artistic work.
