Sustainable flower arranging in Paju

with Lee Hyunju

A green approach to flower design

Meet Korean flower designer Lee Hyunju in her atelier in beautiful Paju, close to the mountains of Gyeonggi region, and learn her alternative techniques to arrange flowers in an eco-friendly way. One-day classes focus on a single topic, which may vary from these three choices: front facing arrangements with a flower frog; bamboo basket centerpieces with sphagnum moss; or large bouquets made with spiral techniques. In each lesson, Lee will explain how to arrange flowers without using plastic flower foam, substituting it with the above-mentioned “green" materials and techniques. After her demonstration, students will choose their flowers and try their hand. All flowers used are seasonal and local.
